The
“Stream Weaver Flies” shop has
had many compliments from a wide variety of customers stating it's nice
to see a shop with top quality materials in such a wide variety that
also combines impeccable personal service. While other clients
have stated the shop reminds them of the wonderfully traditional shops
located in Montana. While still others have stated they appreciate the
fact that the shop has many hard to locate items that they cannot find
anywhere else. Many other customers have called it the one stop
shop because they can purchase everything they need in one store.
Many of our guided
clients have complimented the shop on the level of service it provides
on our programs and guided trips. One particular client had stated
that any expectations they had for their trip were exceeded fourfold.
While another client had thanked Bob for sharing in the excitement
of his son catching the biggest brown trout he had ever caught in
all his fishing travels including even club waters. While still others
have gone away saying they will never look at a river in quite
the same light ever again, after seeing how Bob looks at a river and
all its subtleties. Many clients have gone away from a day
with Bob saying I learned more in one day with you than any other
previous fishing experience I have had.
When Bob has done
casting demonstrations and schools, participants and bystanders have
been totally caught off guard and are surprised when watching Bob
demonstrate casting. Many anglers new to the sport have stated they
would never have believed that it was possible to make a fly rod and
fly line behave in such a controlled manner with so much finesse.
Comments su ch
as we had no idea good casting involved so many skills but the way
you present casting and line control in your classes or demos have
totally changed the way we perceive what good fly-casting really is.
Good fly-casting involves more than just casting out a given length
of line with out any thought of loop control, direction, accuracy,
gentle presentation, line manipulation and control. Anglers that are
new to the sport that attend one of his demos or programs soon realize
good casting, gentle presentation, line manipulation and control are
integral components in the level of success an angler experiences.
Many participants have gone away from these programs with a newfound
confidence and enthusiasm for fly-casting and the sport in general.
As well as a much better understanding of what is required to become
an accomplished caster so they can improve to a point where they will
be much more successful in actual fishing situations.

I had the pleasure of meeting
Bob Edens 18 years ago. Bob instructed my casting lessons and
then took me to Montana to fish the Missouri and the Big Horn.
I never knew there were that many fish in any river, let alone
to be able to catch as many as you want. Bob is a great friend
and the best fly fisherman in Canada. Even great fly fishermen
can learn from Bob Edens. Thanks Again. |

Last year Santa bought my wife
and I a fishing trip.
Bob took us down the Crowsnest river at the end of September/2006
for a day of fantastic fly fishing. The day started out cool and
windy and ended with that famous "Just one more cast",
in the long shadow of the pines.
Bob's patience, knowledge of fly fishing and the area made us feel
relaxed and eventually it seemed like we became part of the river
Thank you Bob for sharing your day with us.

Bob is a
down to earth, easy going guy whose passion and knowledge of fly
fishing is tremendous. His business of Stream Weaver Flies offers
a first class experience for the fly fisher. Unmistakably you
will learn much of what there is to know about fly fishing from
Bob and his brother Pat. Bobs in depth knowledge of the local
hatches will undoubtedly increase your chances of catching a nice
trout. Pats enthusiasm for the sport is definitely contagious.
The brothers are top quality folks who are a pleasure to fish
with, and I sincerely hope I have the pleasure again of fishing
the Red Deer River with them both in the near future. Thanks guys
for a day I will not soon forget! |

I have been
fortunate enough to have been guided by Bob Edens on several occasions.
Immediately I was impressed by his passion for the sport, his
knowledge of habitat, and his eagerness to share the potential
of Albertas great fishing areas with everyone.
A personal
highlight for myself included an action-packed two day float
trip down the Bow with Bob in the summer of 2002. Bobs knowledge
of the Bow helped to ensure that both the dry and wet fly potential
of this river were maximized, and that we lost count of the
number of Rainbows and Browns we caught on our trip. Without
question, they were the most fruitful two days of big fish fishing
I have ever experienced... and I attribute most of my success
to Bob and his expertise.
I would
recommend Stream Weaver Flies to anyone who is passionate about
fly-fishing, and wants to make the most out of the unique fishing
habitat Alberta has to offer.
Thank You
Bob!

I had the
distinct pleasure of fly-fishing for pinks last August with Bob,
Pat and their brother-in law Gary Sooley in the lower Campbell
just outside of Campbell River on Vancouver Island. I am a novice
at this sport and have tons to learn but I had an incredible experience
that week. Bob and Pat are extremely patient and willing to share
their knowledge and expertise. I especially appreciated their
respect for the fish and the environment. I am very much looking
forward to improving my skills and hopefully fishing with the
guys again.
Bob the website is awesome. |

Bob your
site is excellent, your passion for fly-fishing and your eagerness
to assist newcomers to the sport are your greatest assets.
The countless hours that you have invested in the design layout
of your website, coupled with your exceptional knowledge of the
Fly Fishing Industry definitely show. Excellent site! I have fly
fished with my brother Bob on many occasions and he always impresses
me with his fly casting ability, outstanding knowledge of the
western north american insect hatches and the flies he ties are
always first-class.
I remember September 2003 myself, my brother-in-law (Gary Sooley)
and Bob were fly-fishing for Coho Salmon on a high tide in the
Estuary of the Oyster River on Vancouver Island. I noticed a gentleman
watching Bob as he played his line in and out, the man came over
and spoke to me. He was from Great Britain and was also in the
Fly Fishing Business in his native country and who has fly-fished
alongside some of the world-renowned fly fisherman.
He said, Can that guy ever cast a Fly Line.
With a sense of pride I replied that he was my brother and had
been avidly pursuing the sport for 20 plus years and that he was
indeed a consummate caster.
He approached Bob and said, Can you ever cast a Fly Line.
My brother simply said, I practice to cast well as I’m in
the Fly Fishing Business.
To which the gentleman replied, I’m also in the Fly Fishing
Business and I just wanted to tell you that you are a pleasure
to watch as you make that line dance. Bob your site is excellent,
your passion for fly-fishing and your eagerness to assist newcomers
to the sport are your greatest assets. |

Shortly after
I started flyfishing (5 years ago) I was introduced to Bob Edens.
Bob became my mentor and has taught me pretty much everything
I know about the sport. The fly tying materials he carries and
his tying skills are second to none. I have had the opportunity
to fish with many very talented people, but without a doubt, Bob
is the man. He can chuck a fly like I have never seen anyone do
it, his knowledge of the waters, entomology, awesome casting skills,
and his willingness to share information place him among the elite
in this sport.
I have had the pleasure of fishing with Bob on numerous occasions,
with many fish caught (mainly by him of course. We have floated
the Red Deer and while the fishing has been good, the highlight
of the trip has been the learning of new skills, new tactics and
where to find those elusive browns in less than ideal conditions.
All of this I have learned from a man who knows the sport and
genuinely cares about it.
I look forward to another float, perhaps this summer?
Website looks great, very informative.
